What are the requirements for Tryout?
To try out for the junior basketball rep team, you must be between the ages of 9 and 19 and have a passion for basketball. You should also have some experience playing on a school or community team, as well as a good understanding of the rules of the game. In addition to these basic requirements, you will need to demonstrate a strong work ethic, excellent sportsmanship, and a willingness to learn and improve. The coaches will be looking for players who are committed to the team and willing to put in the effort required to succeed at a higher level of competition.
How can you prepare for tryout?
To prepare for junior basketball rep team tryouts, focus on both physical and mental aspects. Practice skills like shooting, dribbling, passing, and defense consistently. Improve fitness through cardio and strength training. Mentally, visualize success, stay positive, and stay focused. Get ample rest, eat healthily, and arrive early for warm-up and mental readiness.
What should you expect at tryouts?
During the tryout process, you can expect a variety of drills and exercises designed to test your basketball skills. These may include shooting, dribbling, passing, and defensive drills. You may also be asked to scrimmage with other players to demonstrate your ability to play as part of a team. Don't worry if you're not perfect at every skill - coaches are looking for potential and improvement as well as existing talent. About the Program

Then join our Basketball Rep Team! Our Junior Program is looking for passionate and determined players like you. A “rep” (representative) team in Canada is a more competitive level of basketball, often traveling for games and representing our club against other rep teams. We are committed to offering advanced training and skill development, attracting experienced coaches and focused players. In our Junior Program, you can expect not only personal growth but also the potential to realize your basketball dream. Here, you’ll have opportunities to challenge yourself, enhance your skills, and achieve personal breakthroughs. Through this program, you’ll learn the value of teamwork, cultivate leadership skills, and build self-confidence that will have far-reaching impacts on your life. Our goal is to help you become a well-rounded player, not just on the court, but off it too. We believe that with our guidance and your effort, you can shine in significant leagues like the Ontario Basketball Association, and potentially realize your college or professional basketball ambitions. Requirement –  A significant commitment on the part of both players and their families during the season. 

As a member of a rep team, an athlete must recognize that participation requires a commitment to their teammates and the coaching staff.

 

 

A typical season includes 2 weekly practices, as well as exhibition and league games. 

Teams will also participate in weekend tournaments during the season. (Team schedules will be determined by the coaching staff later)

 The season also culminates with the Ontario Basketball Association’s Provincial Championships, at least 4 tournaments, 4 Ontario Cup Games, league, and 10 exhibition games. It is expected that each player attends all practices and all games. 

 Season : SEP 2023 To May 2024

 

 Player fees can range : from $800 to $1,500+ based on the season schedule. (Uniforms, Games, Reps, and Training are all included.)

This is a competitive team so playing time will be based on the Ontario Basketball FairPlay rule for ages U12.  
For all ages above U12 or for tournaments / games where the OBA rules may not apply, there will be times where based on a coaches decision playing time will not be equal.  

The team’s focus is to play and compete against other local competitive teams with the goal of offering a more challenging skill level for Youth Participants.
